Application in prescribed forms are invited for admission to the following courses of study in Assam University, Silchar for the academic session commencing from July 2010.

3. 5 years integrated / UG courses

4. 4 years UG+ 2 years PG course: BVA+ MVA (Visual Arts)

5. 4 years UG course: B. Sc. B. Ed.

6. 1 year M Ed course

7. a) 1 year advance Diploma/ Diploma/ Certificate Courses in French
b) 1 year PG diploma in Information Technology
c) 1 year PG diploma in Entrepreneurship and innovation (Diphu Campus only)

8. Additional courses:

A) 1 year PG Diploma in (a) Bio-informatics (b) Marketing Management (c) Tea Management (d) Journalism


B Certificate Coursesin (a) Functional Sanskrit, (b) Arabic Language.

9. 4 year B. Tech. course

a) Information Technology and b) Agricultural Engineering. The admission in B. Tech courses will be done through AIEEE Central Counseling only.

10. 2 year MBA course: The candidates seeking admission in MBA must have cleared MAT conducted by the AIMA.

Intending candidates may collect admission Prospectus-cum application form for the desired course(s) in person on payment of (a) Rs. 350/- (Three hundred fifty) for the courses under Prospectus – A from the Assam University Cash Counter at Silchar Head Quarter and Diphu Campus on working days upto 2 pm.

Prospectus can also be collected on payment of Rs. 30/- (Thirty) additional as service charge from the Head Post Offices at Hailakandi, Patharkandi, Haflong, Badarpur, Diphu and Branches of Axis Bank at Silchar, Karimganj, Guwahati, Nagoan, Jorhat, Imphal, Dimapur, Aizwal, Shillong, Agartala, Dharmanagar, Siliguri, Kolkata, and Burdwan, Delhi, Allabahad, Hyderabad.

The form may also be downloaded from the website http://www.assamuniversity.nic.in and submitted along with demand draft in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at SBI, NIT Branch, Silchar or UCO Bank of Assam University Branch, Silchar being cost of prospectus and application fee.


The candidates who have appeared in TDC Part III examination 2010 of Assam University or any other university may also submit application for admission into PG Courses.

The candidates within geographical jurisdiction of Assam University may submit their duly filled in application form in boxes placed at the Raja Rammohan Roy Administrative Building Assam University, Silchar and Administrative Office,Diphu Campus or at the office of the GC College, Silchar, Karimganj College, Karimganj, SS College, Hailakandi, Haflong Govt. College, Haflong upto 16th June 2010.

Applicants may also send their applications by post, addressed to Registrar, Assam University, Silchar 788011.

The envelop should be super-scribed as APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION. Candidates opted for admission in Diphu Campus should submit their Application Form at Diphu Campus office only.
