Hari Om Ashram Trust Awards: Hari Om Ashram Trust Awards were constituted by the commission in 1974 with the assistance of Hari Om Ashram Trust, Nadiad, to recognise the work of outstanding scientists. The value of each award is Rs 50,000, out of which Rs 10,000 is contributed by the trust.The various awards are as follows:
- Meghnad Saha Award for Theoretical Sciences
- Homi J. Bhabha Award for Research in Applied Sciences
- Award in the field Interaction between Science & Society
- Jagdish Chander Bose Award in Life Science
- Sir C.V. Raman Award for Research In Physical Sciences
UGC Swami Pranavananda Saraswati National Awards: These awards are being given for the outstanding work in the field of environmental science and ecology, education, political science and economics and sociology. The commission has been awarding them since 1985 with the assistance of Swami Pranavananda Saraswati, Director of Yoga Societies in America. He made a contribution of Rs 5 lakh to the awards.
UGC National Veda Vyas Sanskrit Awards: The Veda Vyas National Sanskrit Award was constituted by the commission to promote quality teaching and research in Sanskrit. The award also recognizes the outstanding teacher by awarding him/her. The award carries a prize of Rs 1 lakh, which also includes citation.
