AIMA - Useful Information

In 2006, AIMA in association with the IMRB International, a leading Research Agency in the country, conducted a survey of 'Best Business schools' across the country. A total of 215 B-schools participated in the survey, these were judged on five parameters- Intellectual Capital, Admissions and Placements, Infrastructure, Industry Interface, and Governance. The survey was carried out only for those B-schools who were AICTE approved. Each participating school was sent a questionnaire. The questionnaire had to be filled by the school and sent back either to AIMA or IMRB. AIMA made available the questionnaire on its website too. Besides, AIMA also undertook a personal visit to the institutes for carrying out the survey.

For awarding ratings, AIMA zeroed in on four grades.

Grade SL
The grade SL stands for Super league. It is awarded to only those institutes who come under the top 10 B-Schools of the country.

Grade A
The grade A is further divided into two groups, A+ and A.

Grade B
The grade B is further divided into two groups, B+ and B.

Grade C
The grade C is further divided into two groups, C+ and C.
The further categorization was made to distinguish better performing institutes from those who figure at the lower position within the same group.
