The institute offers the following programs :
Ph. D. Program : The institute offers Research Program in following areas of Physics and Bio Physical Sciences.
Physics : Atomic Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, High Energy Physics, Microelectronics, Nuclear Physics, Plasma Physics, Surface Physics (all experimental and theoretical) and General Mathematical Physics.
Biophysical Sciences : Cell Biology, Genetic Toxicology, Macromolecular Crystallography, Membrane Biophysics, Molecular Genetics, Nuclear & Radiochemistry, Photochemistry, Radiation Chemistry & Biology, Structural Biology & Biomolecular Spectroscopy, Ultrastructural Research.
Post-M.Sc. Associateship Course : The one year course offered in two streams -Physics and Bio Physics equip students for the Ph.D. Programme through classroom lectures at basic and advanced levels, laboratory sessions and exposure to computers.
Undergraduate Associateship in Physics and Biophysical science : Under this program, students are exposed to short term courses and laboratory projects under the guidance of assigned mentors for a maximum period of 90 days, mainly during their vacations.
Summer Students' Programme : The two months Summer Students' Programme consists of research and developmental works (areas of research include Biophysics, Chemical Sciences, Crystallography & Molecular Biology, Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Experimental High Energy Physics, Microelectronics, Nuclear & Atomic Physics, Plasma Physics, Surface Physics, Theoretical Physics and Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics).
