The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, better known as BITS, Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The major purpose of BITS is to "train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information".

BITS Pilani is a dream come true of its founder late Mr G.D.Birla - an eminent industrialist, a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

What started in early 1900s as a small school, blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from Humanities to Engineering until 1964 when all these colleges amalgamated to culminate into a unique Indian University of International standard. This university was christened as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, known to many as BITS, Pilani.

BITS Pilani MBA Programs are two year full time management programme that aims to develop professionals who have scientific and engineering approach as business administrators. Students will also have a reasonable exposure to certain modern technologies. The programme is designed to have much flexibility and very strong component of industry project experience.

The course curriculum of MBA programme offered at BITS Pilani includes Business Structure & Processes, Corporate Finance & Taxation, Managerial Skills, Negotiation Skills & Techniques, Managerial Economics,Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Managerial Communication.

BITS MBA Admission 2011 Eligibility

Any Integrated first degree of BITS or B.E./B.Tech in Engineering disciplines from other recognized universities with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

BITS Pilani conducts online tests and management aptitude tests for admission to its two year MBA programme in Engineering & Technology Management; IT enabled Services Management at BITS designated centres and cities. The test pattern for BITS Pilani is given below:

BITS MBA Admission 2011 Online Technical Tests
The aim of these tests is to judge their understanding of the first degree concepts in the fields they have specialized.

These tests comprise of objective type questions from

1. Core Mathematics
2. Core Physics
3. English Language Skills & Principles of Management
4. Computer Programming
5. Subjects chosen by candidates from their first degree(B.E./B.Tech degree)

BITS Management Aptitude Test 2011

For Management Aptitude test each question will have five answer choices, only one being the correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 4 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark.

The test consists of:

1. Mathematics and Data Interpretation
2. Logical Reasoning
3. Data Sufficiency
4. Verbal Ability

The short listed candidates are then called to BITS Pilani and they undergo further selection process which entails a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview.
