The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2012 on January 29, 2012 in cities across the country and abroad in Dubai and Riyadh.
Conducted for recruitment of teachers across the country, the CTET applies to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

CTET 2012 Courses
The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Schools owned and managed by the State Government / local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Govt. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET
How To Apply For CTET 2012
The cost of Information Bulletin Inclusive of Examination Fees- General/ OBC Category: Rs 500/- (Five hundred only)
- SC/ST/ Differently Abled Category: Rs 250/- (Two hundred fifty only)

Bulletin containing Application Form can be had personally from the
Designated Branches of Syndicate Bank / other Banks or Institutions
against cash payment (not by Post). List available on CBSE website
www.cbse.nic.in or www.ctet.nic.in
- The Syndicate Bank / other
Banks / designated Institutions will not send the Information Bulletin
by Post. Hence, no request should be made to them for sending the
Bulletin by Post.
- Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
CTET 2012 Online Application
The online submission of particulars may be made at website
www.ctet.nic.in . The candidates should supply all the required details
while filling up the online form. On submission of details, a
Confirmation page with Registration No. shall be generated. Candidates
are required to take printout of Confirmation page and paste photograph,
sign in the space earmarked for the purpose.

Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post to CBSE (NOT BY COURIER) to "
The Assistant Secretary (CTET Unit), Central Board of Secondary
Education, 'Shiksha Sadan', 17, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi - 110002" along
with original Demand Draft (if fee paid by Demand Draft) for further
processing so as to reach latest by 30.11.2011 .
Payment can be made as follows by Credit/Debit Card or
Demand
Draft in favour of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education,
Delhi drawn in any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi. Write your Name,
Address, Mobile No. and Registration No. on the back of the demand
draft.
Note : Application can be submitted Online during 01.11.2011 to 25.11 .2011.- In
2011, of the total 794,080 candidates who registered for CTET, 715,050
took the exam held on June 26. The test was conducted in 1,178 centres
and 81 cities across the country and two cities abroad.
- A total of 97,919 candidates cleared CTET 2011.
CTET 2012 Eligibility Criteria
The following persons are eligible
for appearing in the CTET.
Minimum Qualifications For Classes I-V: Primary Stage
-
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or
appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in
Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
-
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or
appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever
name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
-
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or
appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
-
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or
appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
-
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in
Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Minimum Qualification For Classes VI-VIII:
Elementary Stage
-
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in
Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
-
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor
in Education (B.Ed). OR
-
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor
in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and
Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
-
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or
appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
-
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or
appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/ B.Sc.Ed. OR
-
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.
(Special Education)*.
Note:
- Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational
Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to
reserved categories, such as SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled.
- Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, a diploma/degree course in teacher education
recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be
considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
