Career - Sports Star
One cannot assign a step by step guide for reaching the top for a person wanting to be a sports star or cricketer. Like that of a dancer or a singer, this profession has more to do with inherent talent and skills than formal education. However, one needs to learn the skills from a professional and training from an early age is always desirable.
- You should not leave your studies. Though formal schooling might not be directly related to your career, it helps in shaping your personality.
- Opt for subjects at the 10 2 level which are easy for you and require less attention as your priority would be sports.
- Take up the sport that you love not the one which your friends are interested in. Though cricket is the most sought after sport in India, there is a lot of scope in other sports like football, basketball, tennis, badminton and shooting.
- Know your skills. Talk to your sports teacher in school and take his advice.
- Do not be disappointed if you cannot make it big as you can use your skills and achievements at the school and regional level to enter college or even be a sports trainer or fitness instructor in schools and colleges.
