Studying Abroad After Class 12
Higher education in the US and elsewhere is a dream for many students. However, it takes a lot to fulfill the dream. Admission is based on several standardized tests like SAT, GRE, TOEFL, and GMAT. You need to have good financial support in form of grants, and scholarships to survive in a foreign country.
Step 1: You can take up science, commerce or arts in Class 12.
Step 2: If you want to go abroad for higher studies at this stage, you can take SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). The scores of this test are valid for three years and you can join any IVY League Schools in the US based upon your score, grades in school in India and curricular activities.
Step 3: Do your Bachelor’s in a subject of your choice in India. It is important that you get good grades in your graduation which will boost your chances for studying abroad. You can appear for your GRE (Graduate Record Examination) for admission to graduate schools in the US and other English speaking countries. You can also take your GMAT for admission to management programs. For students who have not studied English as their first language, need to take TOEFL.
Step 4: You can continue your masters in India and if you are interested in research or a doctoral degree you can apply to universities abroad for your Phd. Many Scholarships are available for students to pursue higher education in countries like the US, UK, and other European and Asian countries.
