Comparing between BBA, BBS and BBM

There are a lot of myths when people talk about Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelors of Business Management (BBM) in the same breath. With this article, we have tried to bust some of those doubts.

FAQs

1. What should I pursue, BBA, BBS or BBM?

You can pursue either of the three.

2. Is there a difference between the three?

Apart from the name of the degree, there is no difference. The curriculum remains the same. The core concepts remain the same, it’s just that some universities have named the course as Bachelors of Business Studies, some have named it Bachelors of Business Administration and some have named it Bachelors of Business Management.

3. Job scenario is better after pursuing one course, compared to the other.

That depends on the institute you have completed your graduation from and how you have performed at your graduation level. An institute of repute would always give you better opportunities than compared to some other institute, and, also, your performance during those three years is also equally (or more) important.

4. I will not be eligible to pursue a higher degree if I take up one of these courses.

This is absolutely untrue. If the course is AICTE approved or UGC approved, it does not matter that you pursue BBA or BBS or BBM. You shall be eligible to pursue higher education.

5. There is no industrial training in one or more of these courses.

Industrial training is a part of the course in all three, BBA, BBM and BBS.

AICTE means All India Council for Technical Education. Does it mean all technical courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, Phd in Engineering need to be AICTE approved? If any of the above course is only UGC approved, will have same validation similar to AICTE approved course? Many Industries such as Tata Motors do not accept UGC approved degrees? They accept only AICTE approved degrees. How we can give them the justification ? Please reply.
