Footwear Technology


Of late, owing to rapid strides by fashion and footwear industry, foot wear technology also has emerged as an exciting career option. As more and more people and especially the people living in metros are leaving no stone unturned in refining their personalities, the footwear industry is also going through a boom time.

ShoeFootwear being the most essential accessory requires sophisticated machinery and technically skilled professionals who must be competent to handle all the processes related to shoe-making.

Footwear Technology Eligibility Criteria


Educational Qualification: Usually aspirants wishing to make a career in this field must be science graduates but still there are various certificate and diploma course available for 10+2 holders too.

Personal attributes: Besides a strong capability for hard work, comprehensive knowledge of science and machines is essential for candidates aspiring to make a career in this field. This is very necessary because as managers and supervisors their job would revolve around handling advance technologies related to footwear sector. Conversely, footwear designers should be imaginative and innovative.

Footwear Technology Job Prospects


Equipped with a diploma or a certificate course in leather technology, one can find many openings in this emerging sector at the executive level. Those candidates who have completed diploma in footwear design can easily opt for a career as designers too.

Footwear Technology Remuneration


Since the nature of job prospects is very diverse, the salary can vary tremendously. Though, initially pay packet in this field of work is not as lucrative as other hot career options, one can expect a starting salary somewhere around Rs. 8,000-12,000 per month.
