H.L. College of Commerce, Ahmedabad is a premier institute for commerce education in Western India. It was established by the Ahmedabad Education Society (AES) in 1936. Shri Amritlal Hargovandas Sheth and Shri Tribhovandas Hargovandas gave an openhanded donation in the sacred memory of their father to start this college. Since its inception, the college has been trying to offer quality education in commerce to the students of western India. In a span of seven decades H.L. College has earned a name for its high academic and disciplinary standard. It has been accredited with A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college gives students brilliant academic profiles through intellectual, cultural, sports and other enriching exposure. It has also achieved the rare distinction of being one of the top 50 commerce colleges in the country.

Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com.): The College offers a three-year degree course with specialization in one of the principal subjects. The eligibility for this program is 10+2 pass. The medium of instruction of the program is either English or Gujarati. Compulsory subjects are in addition to one principal and one subsidiary subject from the choices offered. (Same subject cannot be offered as Principal and Subsidiary, e.g. Advanced Statistics cannot be selected with Computer Programming) Master of Commerce (M.Com): The College offers master program in Commerce. After successful completion of the program a student is offered M.Com degree by Gujarat University to which it is affiliated. M.Phil: The College offers M.Phil in Accountancy.
