Most of the institutes mentioned above provide a graduate course with B.Tech degree whereas some of them offer only the post graduate courses and the M.Tech degrees.

An All India Entrance Examination is to be cleared to get into the institutes imparting the B.Tech degree, whereas for admission to the post graduate courses, the institutes conduct their exclusive entrance test/interview.


With reference to all the details about IIITs in India, it must be mentioned that a new IIIT Kancheepuram is about to be established which will have almost equal status like that of DAIICT, Gandhinagar, and LNMIIT, Jaipur. Being on the same league with IIIT-Hyderabad, this institute will focus on IT education.
