F.M. University Orissa Distance Education
Fakir Mohan University, Vyasa Vihar, Balasore, Orissa was established on 3rd July 1993 under Section 32 of the Orissa University Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 1989). The University is recognized by the
University Grants Commission (UGC) for award of degrees and certificates. It is also accredited by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Fakir Mohan University has the purpose to grow as a value and need based quality education institution in the state of Orissa in general and Balasore and Bhadrak districts in particular. The University has the ultimate aim of producing qualified and competent manpower receptive to the changing scenario of the industry at the national and international levels.
Besides offering traditional regular courses like in arts, science, commerce etc as well as professional courses like engineering, management etc, the University also offers various professional and conventional courses through distance education mode.
The Fakir Mohan University has Center of Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE) to offer courses at various levels through distance education system. Courses are offered in various disciplines and recognized from governing bodies like Distance Education Council (DEC),
University Grants Commission (UGC) etc. These courses are immensely helpful in obtaining higher education to those who can not attend regular classes but need a higher degree and certificate.
