Admissions to the following full time academic programmes are available at different IITs and made through Joint Admission Test to M.Sc. (JAM). The M.Sc. and M.Sc. – Ph.D. programmes are of 4 semesters, while the duration of Master of Computer Application and M. Tech. Programmes is 6 semesters.

Academic programs available at different IITs

The following are the full-time M.Sc. and other post-B.Sc. programmes at different IITs to which admissions shall be made on the basis of JAM-2008.

IIT Bombay (IITB): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Applied Statistics and Informatics, (ii) Applied Geology, (iii) Applied Geophysics, (iv) Biotechnology, (v) Chemistry, (vi) Mathematics, and (vii) Physics.
M.Sc.-Ph. D. Dual Degree programmes in: (i) Energy, and (ii) Physics.

IIT Delhi (IITD): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Mathematics, and (iii) Physics.

IIT Guwahati (IITG): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Mathematics and Computing, and (iii) Physics.

IIT Kanpur (IITK): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Mathematics, (iii) Physics, and (iv) Statistics.
M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree programme in Physics (Transfer from M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree programme to M.Sc. Physics programme is not permitted).

IIT Kharagpur (IITKgp): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Geological Sciences, (iii) Geophysics, (iv) Mathematics, (v) Physics, and (vi) Statistics & Informatics.

IIT Madras (IITM): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Mathematics, and (iii) Physics.

IIT Roorkee (IITR): Two-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in: (i) Applied Geology, (ii) Applied Mathematics, (iii) Biotechnology, (iv) Chemistry, (v) Industrial Mathematics and Informatics, and (vi) Physics.
Three-year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programme in Applied Geophysics.
Three-year Interdisciplinary Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme.
