NIT Agartala
| The National Institute of Technology Agartala, was earlier known as Tripura Engineering College.The college was established in 1965, and was affiliated with Calcutta University.Initially the college began teaching in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines.These courses were similar with course curriculum of Bengal Engineering College and approved with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.Later the college recognized as Regional Engineering College (REC), Tripura. | |
Further, with the conceptualization of NIT’s, the college renamed as National Institute of Technology and given the “Deemed University” status by Ministry of Human Resource Development - Government of India. The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala is one of the centers of excellence for providing training in engineering sciences in north eastern region of the country.The region also has one Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) in Assam.Since its establishment the college has grown manifold in terms of academics and provide training in the following engineering and technology disciplines- - Civil Engineering
