NIT Jalandhar
| The Regional Engineering College (REC) Jalandhar was established in 1987 in Jalandhar city of Punjab state for providing education in engineering and allied sciences. Further, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India renamed the College as Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology on October 17, 2002.
The Government granted “Deemed University” status on NIT Jalandhar in agreement with AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and University Grants Commission (UGC). The Deemed University status allows NIT Jalandhar for award of its own degrees.
The NIT Jalandhar awards Under Graduate, Post Graduate and PhD degree in a number of disciplines. Being an institution of national importance the institute also conducts rigorous R & D in frontier areas of basic sciences, humanities and engineering sciences.
