| NIT Jamshedpur | The Regional Institute of Technology (RIT), Jamshedpur was started in 1960 in the state of Bihar. Now the institute lies in the State of Jharkhand, known for its mines and mineral resources. With its establishment, the institute was given the responsibility by the government to provide training at under graduate level in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Metallurgy disciplines. With passage of time the institute has grown manifolds and started offering programmes at Post Graduate and Research level.
27th December, 2002, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India renamed the institution as National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur and bestows it the status of Deemed University. |
