Army Institute of Fashion and Design (AFID) is established by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) to make available an alternative technical education for children of Army personnel, serving and retired, so as to make them qualified Fashion Designers, Garment Technologists, Textile Designers, Apparel Marketing professionals or become entrepreneurs.  

The institute offers various postgraduate, undergraduate and short term courses in fashion design. Candidates are selected based on an admission test conducted every in Apr/May.
