Army Institute of Law

Introduction

The Army Institute of Law (AIL) was established in July 1999 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, also approved by the Bar Council of India. AIL is one of the top 25 law schools in the country known for its academic excellence and placements. The Institute offers 5-year degree course in law for undergraduate students.

AIL Mohali has the state of the art-infrastructure facility and is situated in the vicinity of Punjab and Haryana High Court. The building has administrative offices, class rooms with modern teaching aids, moot court room seminar room, Computer lab with Leased line Internet connectivity, spacious library with e-library section, faculty rooms with LAN and internet, conference hall with modern audio visual aids etc.

Course and Eligibility

Program: B.A.LL.B. integrated 5 year course

Eligibility – Candidates with educational qualification of 10 2 exam or equivalent, including students taking such exams in Apr / May of the year, and securing atleast 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST) candidates are eligible. Candidate should not have completed the age of 21 years on 1st Jul of respective year.

Selection: 
Selection for admission to the above course is made on the basis of entrance examination usually held in the month of April.

* Punjab Residents Civil Category seats will be filled through Common Entrance Test to be conducted by Punjab Govt. If there is any change, it shall be notified accordingly.

Course Pattern:

The Army Institute of Law follows the bi-semester system comprising of ten semesters. Every term is divided into two semesters which comprises of 5 subjects each.

The institute is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala under which the examinations are held. Students are required to pass at least 50% of the subjects to get enrolled in the next semester.
