Management Development Institute (MDI) has many feathers to its cap as an elite business school of the country. MDI is the first and only institute in India to be accredited by AMBA- association of MBAs, an international accreditation body. Recently it was awarded as the 2nd best management school in the country by CSR magazine.
More than a third of the students get a chance to spend one term at B-schools in Europe as a part of the student exchange programme at MDI. Students from European B-schools also come to MDI. Such an interaction gives a platform to build global perspective that is now most vital from all managers in this world of globalization.
MDSI also boosts of lots of Management clubs and extracurricular activities on campus. Some of the student initiatives like the student administered investment portfolio are exclusive in MDI campus only.
The special interest groups like marketing and finance clubs are extremely active in organizing various events and guest lectures. Students also organize a market research fair and a national level convention on all the burning business issues. MDI also offers many specialized programmes under its ‘continuing Education Scheme’ under which it offers programmes such as ‘in Company programmes, ‘Armed Forces Programmes’ and ‘Quality Improvement programmes’.

MDI uses CAT for short listing the candidates for its programmes. short listed candidates are then called for Group Discussion (for PGPM and PGP-IM) and simulation exercises/Group discussion (for PGP-HR) followed by Personal Interviews during the month of February to April at any of the centers, viz. Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, and Mumbai (centers other than Gurgaon being tentative).
MDI graduates have always been welcomed whole-heartedly by the business industry. Placement Records at MDI over the past many years speak a lot about the faith shown by the corporate sector for MDI students. The Placements in 2007 especially have been amazing and unprecedented with the highest domestic salary jumping to 16 lakhs and the highest international salary rising to 80,000 Australian dollars.
