Rourkela Institute of Management Studies (RIMS) was established in 1984. It has pulled up all the stops to become the distinguished B-School in the country. A governing body consisting of distinguished industrialists, businessmen, academicians and professionals, governs it.

The institute is situated in a scenic and serene campus that provides a conducive environment for personal and intellectual growth. Students are given all encouragement in their areas of interest, by providing a hi-tech infrastructure facility, backed by faculty support.

RIMS is affiliated to Sambalpur University, Orissa, Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, for different programmes and follows the curriculum prescribed by the respective Universities for each of its courses. It has both the NBA and AICTE accreditation and ISO 9001-2000 certification from RWTUV Germany as well.

• MBA Programme is of two years duration. Each year is divided into three trimesters. First & Fourth trimester begins in August and ends in November. Second & Fifth trimester begins in December and ends in February. Third & Sixth trimester begins in March and ends in May.

  Admission Process:
  Admission is done on the basis of the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by State Government of Orissa and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi

The Training & Placement section endeavors to provide career planning and job seeking assistance its students. It not only facilitates summer placement but also organizes programmes on campus interviews like group discussions, case studies, mock interviews etc.

The T & P Cell interacts actively with industries, research and service organizations for organizing campus recruitment, in-plant training and for getting sponsored projects for the mutual benefit of the Institute and industry.

All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi, through Joint Entrance Examination conducted by State Government of Orissa and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducts the admission into MBA programme at RIMS.
