Panjab University was established in the year 1882 in Lahore. After independence, it was re-located at Chandigarh. The University was incorporated for imparting education in the fields of Arts, Literature, Science, Commerce, and Business Management. Punjab University Business School (Formerly Department of Commerce and Business Management) has been imparting quality management education to develop dedicated, innovative and effective managers, researchers and teachers for above three decades. The University Business School (UBS) has consistently been ranked among the top 15 Business Schools and ranked second amongst the universities of India.

The school uses rigorous multifaceted pedagogy to impart knowledge in various management streams. The mangement courses that the University Business School, Panjab University conducts are MBA, MBA (International Business), MBA (Human Resource), MBA (Biotechnology), and MBA (Executive). The faculty of the UBS is trained in India and abroad and has earned international recognition in the industry and academia. The students are are well placed both in India and abroad.
