A certain percentage of seats in all courses of the government universities are reserved for the students who are economically backward and physically challenged. The universities that offer M.A in Masters in Mass Communication also keep certain seats reserved for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). Some relaxation is also provided to the Children of Ex-servicemen and certain percentage is reserved for outside state candidates also. But the reservation percentages vary from institute to institute.
While in Ch. Charan Singh University, located in Merrut, UP, Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes students are allotted 21 and 2 percents seats in the course respectively, the percentages reserved for the same categories in AJK Mass Communication Research Centre of Jamia Milia Islamia are 15 and 7 percent respectively. Besides, 25 percent seats are also reserved for Jamia Pass outs. Those who are physically challenged too can avail the reservation benefit which is 3 percent of the total seats in the course. | |
