The government institutes that offers PG Diploma in Mass Communication keeps certain seats reserved for economically backward and physically challenged students. Besides, some seats are also kept aside for outstanding players. However, the numbers of reserved seats are not same in all the institutes. The percentages vary from university to university and from institute to institute.
For instance, the pioneering institute of Mass Communication in the country- Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) assigns 15 percent of total seats for SCs, 7.5 percent for STs and 2 percent for OBC students out of the total seats available for admission. The Jamia Milia Islamia University, on the other hand, also gives relaxation to the reserved category students in the qualifying examination apart from keeping a fixing percentage of quotas for the SC/ST students. The relaxation provided to these students is to the extent of 5 percent. Moreover, students with disability are allotted 3 percent seats. Some universities also keep certain seats reserved for their students. | |
