Veterinary Council of India

Veterinary Council of India is a statuary body established under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Since its setting up, the Council has been getting up 100% grants-in-aid from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India under a Plan Scheme i.e. "Professional Efficiency Development" for undertaking the activities of the Council.

The council conducts an All India Entrance Examination for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course for filling up 15% of total number of seats on Merit in each Veterinary College of India.

The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) degree course is five years including six months compulsory rotating internship.
