The candidate must have completed Senior School Certificate exam (10 +2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 50% aggregate marks in the first attempt (40% for SC/ST/BC) from Maharashtra schools. Domicile status notRequired for: NRIs and foreigners nominated by the Government of India, Wards of central government, public sector employees, defence personnel stationed in the area and parents employed in Maharashtra. Selection: Selection to all government and private medical colleges in Maharashtra (free and payment) is done on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying 10+2 examination. Weightage is also given to previous academic record, participation in sports, NCC cadets and wards of freedom fighters. All seats - paid and free - are filled by the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE - PG Eligibility Eligibility for MD/MS/M Ch: Pass in MBBS at least three years before seeking admission. For Neurology, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Paediatric Surgery the duration is 5 years. The candidate must also have held resident appointment for 6 months to 2 years in the concerned subject. Eligibility for DM: Pass in MBBS at least five years before seeking admission or pass in MD at least two years before seeking admission.
