admission procedure

Eligibility

The candidate must be 17 years as on 1st October of the year of admission.
The candidate must have completed Senior School Certificate exam (10 +2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 50% aggregate marks in the first attempt (40% for SC/ST/BC) from Maharashtra schools.

Domicile status notRequired for:

NRIs and foreigners nominated by the Government of India, Wards of central government, public sector employees, defence personnel stationed in the area and parents employed in Maharashtra.

Selection:

Selection to all government and private medical colleges in Maharashtra (free and payment) is done on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying 10+2 examination. Weightage is also given to previous academic record, participation in sports, NCC cadets and wards of freedom fighters. All seats - paid and free - are filled by the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE - PG

Eligibility

Eligibility for MD/MS/M Ch: Pass in MBBS at least three years before seeking admission. For Neurology, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Paediatric Surgery the duration is 5 years. The candidate must also have held resident appointment for 6 months to 2 years in the concerned subject.

Eligibility for DM: Pass in MBBS at least five years before seeking admission or pass in MD at least two years before seeking admission.

Selection

Selection is on the basis of an entrance test and interview.
