Fergusson College, named after Sir James Fergusson, is a sister institution of Deccan Education Society. Established in 1885, the college was the first patron of the Deccan Education Society. The college was inaugurated on 2nd January, 1885 by William Wordsworth, the grandson of the great English poet. Fergusson College is affiliated to University of Pune and has been accredited ‘A’ grade by National Accreditation and Academic Council (NAAC). The College has a beautiful picturesque campus of 65 acres with numerous buildings of gothic architecture. A large number of students from overseas are also interested to study in the college. The Fergusson College offers courses in science at graduate, postgraduate, M.Phil & Ph.D. level. The quality of teaching and students performance is excellent. The college enjoys the rare distinction of being one of the top ten science colleges in the country, according to India Today survey 2007.

Undergraduate program: The students who have passed std. XII or an equivalent examination from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or any other recognized board are eligible to apply. The admission to the Fergusson junior college is done through centralized admission process. Postgraduate Program: Admissions M Sc courses are based on the marks obtained at the graduation level. The admission is done on merit basis.
