The Australian Government offers a range of study and research awards available to candidates in the Asia-Pacific region, including India, under the Australian Scholarships Program.

Australian Leadership Awards (ALA)

Australian Leadership Awards aim to develop future leaders from the Asia-Pacific Region. They offer scholarships for long-term postgraduate study at Masters or Doctoral level, and fellowships for short-term research or study.

The Endeavour Program

The Endeavour Program includes all international scholarships offered by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). The program aims to encourage high-achieving students, researchers and professionals from the Asia-Pacific region to take part in short and long-term study, research, and professional development in Australia.

Endeavour IPRS

The Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (Endeavour IPRS) aim to attract top international postgraduate students at Masters and Doctoral level to areas of research strength in Australia.

A number of scholarships are available specifically to women through the International Federation of University Women.

ALA Scholarships are competitive and managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). Scholarship recipients would be those who have the potential to assume leadership roles and can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes in their home countries and the region.

The Endeavour Program, managed by the Department of Education Science and Training (DEST), brings to Australia leading researchers, executives and students for short or long-term study, research and professional development in a broad range of disciplines, and enables Australians to do the same in India.
