MBA in Canada

A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a professional graduate degree which educates students in the theoretical and practical knowledge. It goes beyond teaching the skills, and abilities to successfully manage, lead, plan, organize, and adapt to ever-changing and complex global business environments and helps students develop what is often referred to as ‘soft skills’.

MBA programs in Canada vary from 10 months to over 2 years and therefore it is difficult to give any specific description of the MBA curriculum. However, MBA programs fall within three categories including the generalized, specialized, and combined.

Generalized MBA Program : A generalized MBA program is usually of 2 years duration. The first year deals in the study of core business fundamentals like Financial and Managerial Accounting, Business Strategy Analysis and Management Statistics and Data Analysis. The second year either delves deeper into general management or an area of concentration as chosen by the student among the options offered by his/her program.

Specialized MBA : Specialized MBA degrees are often 1 year or less in duration and offer an individual the opportunity to hone his/her skills in specific sector. Some schools, such as Simon Fraser University, also offer customized MBA programs developed in accordance with the needs of specific companies. The latter type of specialized programs, sometimes referred to as "Corporate MBAs," however, is usually only available to employees of the company for which the MBA is tailor-made.

Combined MBA : Combined MBA programs usually last for 4 years and a student simultaneously acquires degree in another discipline like Agriculture, Arts, Engineering, Law, or Medicine.

Hi. I am currently a student of 6th semester 5 years course. (B.A.LLB.) as well as pursuing CS. I wish to pursue L.L.M. in Company Laws from Canada after completion of my graduation course. What exams/ entrance tests am I required to give and which are the best universities for the same. Also how would this help me in future if I wish to enter in "employment" in some Indian Law Firm or an MNC?
