Generally, to enroll for an MS degree, one must have undergone 16 (12 4) years of education. Those with 15 (12 3) years of education are either required to take up a master's program, or take substantial prerequisite courses as specified by the department, depending on the university they are applying to.
The application process for applying to US Universities for an MS programme has been explained below:
- Take the GRE/TOEFL test.
- Choose 6-10 universities that accept the score you have in your GRE/TOEFL and your Academic Percentage and the cost of education.
- Ensure that your course is Accredited. Accreditation is the certificate that ensures that a school or program meets a prescribed academic standards.
- Demand Draft/Bank cheque for Application fee (in case you have not paid the fee)
- 1 Recommendation letter each, from 3 lectures
- A copy of your GRE/TOEFL/GMAT/IELTS Score
- Transcripts of your Bachelors Degree
- Bachelors Degree, if available
- SSC/ICSE/10th or Equivalent Certificate
- HSC/ISC/12th or Equivalent Certificate
- Statement of Purpose
- Bank Statement
- Affidavit
- Work Experience/ Study Certificate
- Copy of first and last pages of your passport
- Copies and proofs of all your relevant extra curricular activities

Respected sir/madam, i have completed b.sc nursing with 1st division in sept.2010. i have 1year 6 months experience in clinical area.My IELTS overall score is 6band overall. I am very much interested to do further study in USA. Am i qualifying or not to get study visa of US for medical or nursing study,please tell me as soon as possible. with regards,sukhmanjit

Hello Girishkumar,First you have to take TOEFL. Then appear for SAT. 89 is the minimum requirement in TOEFL. Try to get at least 1700 in SAT to qualify for good US university. Gather letter of recommendation from your school. Your essay should be touching. Extra curricular activity certificates should be attached with your application form.
