AIEEE 2012 Exam Pattern

AIEEE  (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) is organized by CBSE and the department of secondary and higher education in compliance with the government of India directives.

AIEEE 2012 Requirement of Papers / Aptitude Test

  • B.E. / B. Tech. : Paper – 1
  • B. Arch / B. Planning : Paper – 2

AIEEE 2012 Pattern For B.Tech / BE Exam


B.Tech / BE (AIEEE) exam duration is of 3 Hrs. Examination pattern of the AIEEE paper is of objective type which covers PCM syllabus of class XI and XII and equal weightage is given to all the subjects. There is also a provision of negative marking in the paper, for each wrong answer ¼ marks will be deducted from the total score of the student.

AIEEE 2012 Pattern For B. Arch / B. Planning Exam


B. Arch / B. Planning (AIEEE) exam duration is of 3 Hrs. Paper will be having three sections: Aptitude test, Mathematics and drawing test. In this particular paper Aptitude test and Mathematics questions will be of objective type and Drawing test will check the students drawing abilities  of the students.

AIEEE 2012 Subject Combination for Each Paper

  • Paper 1
    Subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (equal weightage to each subject)
    Type of Questions: Objective type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

  • Paper 2
    Subjects: Mathematics – Part I, Aptitude Test – Part II, & Drawing Test – Part III
    Type of Questions: Objective type questions to test Mathematics – Part I, Aptitude Test – Part II, and Questions to test Drawing Aptitude

AIEEE 2012 Scoring and Negative Marking


The questions asked will be of objective type with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.
