With the approval of the Central Government of India, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has made provision for a single eligibility cum entrance examination, namely, "National Eligibility cum Entrance Test" (NEET) for admission to MBBS course in each academic year from 2013 onward.

Similarly, the Dental Council of India (DCI) has also notified that admission to BDS courses in each academic year shall be through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Accordingly, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses (NEET UG 2013) in the academic session 2013-14 on 5 May, 2013.

From 2013 onward, NEET UG has replaced the AIPMT. AIPMT 2012 was the last edition of the test. 

NEET 2013 has replaced a lot of state level and institute level medical entrance exams like GGSIPU CET, DUMET,AFMC, KEAM (Medical).

AIPMT 2013

All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Test is the gateway for admission into 1st semester of first year of professional degree courses in medicine and dentistry offered through various AIPMT Medical Colleges and AIPMT Dental Colleges across the country.

AIPMT 2013 Exam Dates

As per communication received from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India regarding seeking permission from the Hon’ble Supreme Court to allow introduction of NEET for Under Graduate Medical Courses from the academic year 2013-14 instead of 2013-13, the Central Board of Secondary Education would now conduct the All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Entrance Examination only for the 15% all India quota seats as per following schedule:

• AIPMT Preliminary Examination -  April, 2013
• AIPMT Final Examination - May, 2013
  
  

AIPMT 2013 Notification

Online applications are invited for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination 2013 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of ANDHRA PRADESH and JAMMU & KASHMIR

• Schedule for submission of online application forms without late fee: end December 2012 to end January 2013

• Last date of receipt of confirmation: beginning of February 2013
  
• Schedule for submission of online application forms with late fee of Rs.500/- January 2013

• Last date of receipt of confirmation page in CBSE for the applications submitted with late fee of Rs.500/- beginning of March 2013
  

• Schedule for submission of online application forms with late fee of Rs.1000/- February 2013

• Last date of receipt of confirmation page in CBSE for the applications submitted with late fee of Rs.1000/- beginning of February 2013

AIPMT 2013 Online Application Form Corrections

• The candidates of AIPMT-2013 can avail A ONE TIME OPPORTUNITY to correct their particulars in the on-line Application submitted by them on the website of the CBSE www.aipmt.nic.in. This facility shall be available during the period 1st February to 24 th February, 2013.

• Correction in City of Centre/ Choice of Counseling Centre/ Question Paper Medium are not allowed.

• After correction, the candidates may print correction slip and retain the same with them for reference and record.

• Due to correction of Category/ Sub-Category by the candidate, if additional fee is payable, the correction slip along with Demand Draft for balance amount drawn in favour of the Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi be sent to:

AIPMT 2013 Application Forms

AIPMT 2013 Application Forms are available Online as well as Offline. Candidates can choose to apply for AIPMT 2013 either way. Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website www.aipmt.nic.in The duration of submission of application form, without late fee and with late fees is given in FEE DETAILS/LAST DATE. Instructions for submitting online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout to be sent to CBSE are available on website.

Eligibility Criteria For AIPMT 2013

• He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

• The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

• The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates.

Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing plus two examination in 2013 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

AIPMT 2013 Admit Card

The Board would provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards of Preliminary Stage Examination on the Board’s website. Candidates must download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein. The admit cards will not be sent by the post.  The Admit Card will contain the candidate’s roll number, name, Father’s name, Category, Sub-Category, photograph, signatures, Date of Birth, language of question paper with name and address of AIPMT centre allotted.

The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for all the entries made therein. In case of any mistakes in the contents, the candidate should immediately inform the Board. In such cases, candidates would appear in the examination with the already downloaded admit card. However, Board will take necessary action to make the correction in the record later. Candidates qualified for the Final Examination- need to download the separate admit card indicating the new roll number and other details from the Board’s website. Candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Cards in good condition till admission in Medical/Dental Colleges is over.
