Faculty of Law, Delhi University's LL.B. & LL.M. Entrance Test 2013

The Faculty of Law, Delhi University has announced the entrance test dates for admission to its Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) and Master of Law (LL.M.) courses for the academic year 2013 to 2014.

About the programmes

  1. LL.B.: The Bachelor of Law offered by the Faculty of Law, DU is a three-year undergraduate law programme for graduates of any stream.
  2. LL.M.: The Master of Law offered by the Faculty of Law, DU is a two-year postgraduate law programme for law graduates.

Eligibility criteria

For LL.B.
Applicants should have any graduate or postgraduate degree with the following marks:

  • 50% marks (general candidates)
  • Relaxation up to 5% marks for physically handicapped candidates
  • 45% marks for widows/wards of ex-servicemen, for serving personnel who are recipients of gallantry awards and Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates
  • Pass marks for Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes (SC/ST) candidates

For LL.M.
Applicants should have an LL.B degree (three-year/five-year) with the following marks:

  • 50% marks for general candidates
  • relaxation up to 5% marks for physically handicapped candidates
  • 45% marks for widows/wards of ex-servicemen, for serving personnel who are recipients of gallantry awards and OBC/SC/ST candidates

Candidates who are waiting for the results of their qualifying degree examination are also eligible to appear in the entrance test. However, admission will depend only on fulfilling minimum eligibility conditions.

Application procedure

1. Interested candidates can obtain the bulletin of information and exam application form in three ways:

  • By submitting a bank draft of Rs. 700 (Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates) in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi payable at Delhi/NCR Delhi and collecting the bulletin and application form from:
    i) the office of the Admission Committee, Faculty of Law, Delhi University North Campus from 10:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m. and
    ii) the office of Law Centre II, ARSD College Building, Dhaula Kuan between 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • By downloading the bulletin and form from www.du.ac.in and depositing them along with the fee.
  • By requesting the application form and bulletin by post by sending a bank draft of Rs. 750 (Rs. 300 for SC/ST candidates) before 25 May, 2013 to Co-ordinator, Admission Committee, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.

Physically handicapped candidates can get the bulletin of information and application form free of cost. This is subject to the production or sending of a photocopy of the physically handicapped category certificate.

2. The application form should be filled and deposited in the office of the Coordinator, Admission Committee, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.

The application forms are accepted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on all working days and up to 5 p.m. on 30 May, 2013. The office is on lunch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The forms can also be sent by registered/speed post only so as to reach on or before 30 May, 2013.
