NIMCET 2013 for admission to MCA (2013-14) in NITs

NIMCET 2013 (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) is being conducted by NIT Warangal on 26th May 2013 for admission to the MCA programmes offered by 11 of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in India.

About the NITs

The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are Institutions of National Importance and are Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. There are 30 NITs in India out of which 11 NITs offer the MCA course. After taking NIMCET 2013, you need not apply separately to any NIT for admission to MCA programme. Admission to the MCA programme in any of the 11 NITs will be done through counselling on the basis of your NIMCET 2013 rank.

Eligibility Criteria to appear for NIMCET-2013

1.    Indian Nationals securing  at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in any of the following courses from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2013:
B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time
OR
B.E / B.Tech or equivalent

2.    Candidates who are appearing for final year/semester of B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum 3 years or B.E/B.Tech in the academic year 2012-13 are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2013. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the head of institution where the candidate has studied) that he/she is appearing for the examinations during the academic year 2012-13 and can submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2013 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th September, 2013, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs. NIMCET-2013 will not reserve a seat to a candidate due to any reason claimed for not fulfilling the eligibility criteria including the delay in publishing the results by the concerned University/institute.
OR
Students who have completed/completing degree B.Sc / B.Sc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

3.    The percentages of marks in qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any. The aggregate of all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by NIMCET-2013 for deciding eligibility.

How to Apply

You can only apply online for NIMCET 2013. No application forms are being sold. However, applicants after filling the application online, have to take print of generated application and send along with DD, other relevant document by speed post / registered post to:

Please ensure that your filled in application along with all necessary documents and original demand draft reaches this address before 16 April 2013.

Application Fee

The processing Fee for NIMCET-2013 test and counselling for admission to the MCA programme is Rs.1600 for OPEN/OBC category and Rs. 800 for SC/ST category candidates. Candidates have to take Demand Draft for an appropriate amount relevant to their category. Demand Draft must be drawn in favour of "NIMCET-2013", payable at any bank listed in section 5.0 of the Information Brochure. Candidates are required to write their name, address and Mobile/Phone Number and NIMCET-2013 Application Number generated, on the reverse side of the Demand Draft before sending to NIMCET-2013 office.
