India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) Collaboration announces admissions to its Graduate Training Programme 2010 (GTP-2010) leading to Ph.D. degree in High Energy Physics.

Highlights of GTP – 2010

• The selected candidates will take one year course work at TIFR. Mumbai (and/or HRI. Allahabad) in both experimental physics techniques and theory, starting from August 2010.

• The focus will be on detector building, physics issues as well as ether developmental activities of INO.

• Successful candidates after the course work will be attached to Ph.D. guides at various collaborating institutions for a Ph. D. degree on the basis of their INO related work.

• Candidates performing exceptionally well could be absorbed as regular employees in the INO project on completing of their Ph.D. degree.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a minimum qualification of M.Sc. degree in Physics or B.E./B.Tech. degree in any one of Electronics, E & CE, Instrumentation, Electrical engineering subjects with strong motivation for and proficiency in Physics. The applicants must also have secured a minimum of 55% of marks in the respective qualifying examinations (Fresh students who are appearing for these examinations may also apply, provided their current GPA is above 55% or equivalent.

In addition. applicants should have preferably appeared for any one of GATE, CSIR-UGC, JEST, BARC exams/entrance tests in 2009 or 2010 . The scores and grades for the first 3 exams should be mentioned in the application. These candidates. who have nut cleared any of the above mentioned tests. have to give a written test at the interview venue.
