The Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET) 2013 will be held on 30 May 2013 for admission to MBBS programs.
U.P. Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA)
A consortium of Unaided Non Minority Medical Colleges in Uttar Pradesh, UPUMCWA is registered under the Societies Registration Act. The association is located in Bareilly.
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Programs
The test is conducted to create a merit list for admission to member colleges. MBBS programs will begin in the academic session 2013 to 2014. Member colleges are listed below, as of February, 2013:

UPCMET 2013 Important Dates

UPCMET 2013 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should be citizens of India and at least 17 years of age as of 31 December 2013.
Applicants should have passed the Uttar Pradesh Board's 10+2 exam, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or equivalent from a recognized university or board. Candidates must have English as a subject, with at least 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together (40 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes candidates). If you are appearing for the 10+2 exam in 2013, you are also eligible provided that you pass the exam with the appropriate marks.
UPCMET 2013 Exam Pattern
The exam has two papers with five total subjects. Paper I has a total of 100 marks and Paper II has 50 marks. Combined maximum marks for the test are 200 (not 250).
Paper I: Physical and Biological Sciences 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Physics: 50 questions
- Chemistry: 50 questions
- Total: 100 questions
- Zoology: 50 questions
- Botany: 50 questions
- Total: 100 questions
Paper II: General English (Qualifying Paper) 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- General English: 50 questions
- Total: 50 questions
For each wrong answer, one quarter of a mark (1/4) will be deducted.
The cut-off marks for Paper I are 50 percent (for SC/ST/OBC candidates 40 percent) and for Paper II are also 50 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates). Merit is determined from Paper I marks.
UPCMET 2013 Syllabus
General topics on the test are listed below, refer to UPCMET's syllabus for further details.
Topics include measurement and kinematics, mechanics, wave motion and sound, general properties of matter, heat, light, electricity, electromagnetism, electron physics, radiation and atomic physics and nuclear physics.
Topics include general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and organic chemistry.
General: origin of life, evolution and animal physiology. Type and specific study: modern classification of the animal kingdom and other topics such as protozoa and porifera.
Topics include the cell, cell formation, ecology and heredity in the first section. The second section includes modern classification of the plant kingdom, sporogenesis, cell differentiation, bacteria and fungi.
The qualifying paper includes topics such as spelling, grammar, simple tenses, prepositions, fill in the blanks, sentence completion, vocabulary building and comprehension.
UPCMET 2013 Application Procedure
The application form for the test is available online. The completed application form or confirmation page (for online applications) should be sent by speed post to "The Coordinator, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, Rampur Garden, Bareilly-243001." A demand draft of Rs. 1,000 should be included drawn in favor of UPUMCWA, payable at Bareilly.
You may also obtain the application by mail or in person from participating member colleges.
The application form should be filled in with capital letters using a black ballpoint pen. The form allows you to pick an exam centre that cannot be changed later. Include a copy of your 10+2 mark sheet, your 10th standard certificate, any other applicable certificates and four copies of a recent passport-sized photograph.
