Various universities provide regular as well as the distance education mode in B.Sc. Animation and Multimedia. The duration of the course is three years. The entire course has total of six semesters (two per year). Every college or university may have its own course structure.
The first semester may cover basics of animation, computer programming languages and technical English. In the second semester, students may be required to take papers on digital art and graphics. In the third semester, subjects such as 3-D animation, composing and editing, color theory and multimedia could be included. The fourth semester might consist of subjects such as layout and perspective, sketching and the production process. The fifth semester might cover subjects like gaming technology and web design. In the final semester, students may take subjects like filmmaking labs, script writing and visual effects. A project could be required during this semester. Each semester tends to include both theory and practical papers.
