Institute of Physics - Programs

The programs offered by IOP are described below:

Pre Doctoral Programme

The Pre Doctoral (Post M.Sc.) programme is a pre qualification for doing Ph.D. from Institute Of Physics. The duration of the programme is 1 year.During this one year programme the scholars has to study all branches of physics ranging from mechanics to modern physics. After successful completion of programme M.Phil. Degree in Physics is awarded. The selection to this programme is made on the basis of Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) and Viva Voce test. The selected candidates are paid a monthly fellowship of Rs.8000/- during the Pre-doctoral training period.

Post Doctoral Programme

The Institute Of Physics offers Doctoral Programme for those candidates, who successfully complete M.Phil. programme. Candidate has to study and carry out research task with one of the faculty member. The doctoral programme candidate gets fellowship of Rs. 8000/- per month during first year and Rs. 9000/- per month in subsequent years. A book grant of 3000/- per annum is also provided. After completion of research work a candidate can submit thesis to any University located in Orissa.
