The NBA has full authority to recognize or derecognize any technical institute / faculty or programmes offerd by it. Various diploma, degree and post graduate technical programmes and institute offering such programme comes under the purview of National Board of Accrediation (NBA).

The NBA approval of technical institutions is a process of quality assurance. The NBA makes it sure that an institute providing technical education is giving its students the quality of education for that it makes commitment. The NBA approval makes the backbone of the technical institutes in India.

The NBA has also applied for Washington Accord, approval of which it will get in near future. The NBA recognition guarantees the minimum quality of education in technical institutions in the country.

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has the goal to develop a Quality Conscious System of Technical Education which should be at par with the industrial demand.

The NBA has given the full responsibility by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to build a technical education system, as vendors of human resources that will match the national goals of growth by competence, contributions to economy through competitiveness and compatibility to societal development.
