After the discovery of nuclear fission phenomenon
by Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman and declaration of Enricho Fermi etal from Chicago that sustained nuclear chain reactions are feasible, Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha realizes the vast potential of nuclear nuclear energy as a feasible alternative source for electric power generation. However, there were very little known about nuclear energy in those days. In March 1944, Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha begins the Nuclear Science Research program in India with a handful of other scientists. He started working with an aim of achieving self reliant in the area of nuclear sciences and technologies.
Dr. Bhabha was an smart scientist and steadfast engineer, a fanatical architect, a painstaking planner and a just right executive. A devoted follower of fine arts and music, he was a philanthropist too. The path to perfection cemented by Dr. Bhabha has taken the Indian Atomic Energy Programme to one amongst the best in the world.
We along with the Department of Atomic Energy and with the whole country and along with the whole human kind salute The Scientist - Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha and rededicate ourselves in the hunt of perfection set forth by him through the imminent years.
