| Admission Procedure of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade
Two-year MBA (International Business), New Delhi, Kolkata, and Dar-es-Salaam For seeking admission in a two-year MBA programme, a candidate has to appear for a General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). The test judges a candidate on following parameters: English Comprehension, General Knowledge and awareness, Logical reasoning, and Quantitative analysis. After passing the test, a candidate has to appear for a group discussion and an interview.Three-year MBA (International Business), Part-Time, New Delhi For gaining admission in the part-time MBA programme of the institute, a student has to appear for an essay writing test. Those qualifying the essay writing test are then called for Group Discussion and final Interview.Executive Masters in International Business, New Delhi The programme in Executive Masters in International Business is for working executives and self-employed individuals. Though the selection process for the programme is same as the part-time programme (Written test on essay writing, group discussions and interviews), the candidate's eligibility for the programme differs. A candidate has to meet the following criteria in order to seek admission in the programme
The admissions to the Certificate Programme in Export Management of the institute are offered on the basis of interviews. A candidate need to have a Bachelor's Degree from any recognised Indian or foreign University or a diploma with two years of post-diploma, full time, work experience as on 31 March of the Programme year.Ph.D programmeIIFT conducts a Research Aptitude Test for shortlisting candidates in its Ph.D programme. The test, comprising of objective type questions on Current National and International Economic Issues and Research Methodology, are held at four centres in India: Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai. The shortlisted candidates are then required to submit a detailed Synopsis on the Research Project Proposal as per the guidelines to be issued in this regard, besides a copy of any one of his/her important research paper. However, the final selection is made by the institute after the interview. Foreign Nationals, seeking admission in the Doctoral Programme of the institute have to submit their GMAT score along with the synopsis of the Research Project Proposal and Research Paper. The final selection, however, will be done on the same pattern- interview. Note : A candidate seeking admission in the Ph.D programme of the institute needs to be a Master degree holder in one of the approved disciplines like : Economics / Commerce / Mathematics / Statistics / Operational Research / Business Administration / M.Tech. of any approved university with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. He/she must also fulfil the eligibility requirement in terms of clearing the UGC's NET (Research Fellowship) / CSIR or any other examination, including M.Phil. Degree.
