Lower Division Clerk Eligibility Criteria

  • The only eligibility specified for this examination is age; a candidate should be between the age group of 18-27 years

LDC Educational Qualifications

To appear for the Lower Division Clerk examination, a candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • A candidate must have passed his 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board or university
  • A candidate must have a typing speed, on the computer, of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi

Examination for Position of Lower Division Clerk

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (Krishi Anusandhan Bhawan, Pusa, New Delhi) also known as ASRB is responsible for conducting the common competitive examination for the posts of Lower Division Clerks (LDC) in the 63 research institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

As per recent details released by the board, the examination is conducted online at various examination centers spread across the country. An applicant can choose the examination center they wish to appear for the exam at, while submitting their particulars online.

The online application for the examination for the position of lower division clerks is available at the ASRB website, asrb.org.in and the ICAR website, www.icar.org.in.

The Application fee for Unreserved and OBC candidates is INR 200 only and that for candidates from SC/ST, Divyang, Ex-Servicemen, Women category is 0.

Scheme of LDC Examination

The examination for the position of Lower Division Clerk consists of a written examination and a typing test, both of which are essential to pass. Only the candidates who qualify in the written examination are called for the typing test. The pattern for the written examination is detailed below.

Typewriting Test

The typewriting test will consist of one paper. A candidate should have an English typing speed of 35 wpm and a Hindi typing speed of 30 wpm.

Salary of a Lower Division Clerk

If you are applying to the position of a Lower Division Clerk, then you can expect to be in the Pay Band - I where the pay range is between INR 5,200 - 20,200 + a grade pay of INR 1900.
