Nationality: A candidate must be either
1. citizen of India, or
2. subject of Bhutan, or
3. subject of Nepal, or
4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Eth
Candidates belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above must possess a certificate of eligibility, issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility is not, however, necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
Age limits and marital status:
Unmarried male candidates in between the age of 18 and 22 years are only eligible for training at Naval Academy.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates are required to have a B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics or a Bachelor in Engineering for Naval Academy. Candidates who are still studying in their final year degree course, and have yet to pass the final year examination can also apply, but will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination.
