Generally for undergraduate course like Bachelor of Business Management (BBM), Bachelor of Business administration (BBA) & Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), universities ask for 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent qualification. Here, some universities do prefer aspirants with Maths/Commerce background.

Similarly for MBA, an aspirant should be a bachelor's degree holder (10+2+3 of pattern) in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50 % marks in aggregate. In case of SC/ST/OBC the minimum mark can be 45%. Students are selected through entrance examination. Besides most institutes conducts their own tests followed by group discussion and personal interview.

An outgoing, friendly personality, ability to handle people, ability to overcome pressure, ability to handle deadlines, excellent communication skills & leadership skills are necessary to be an effective manager. One should be a great team player and a source of inspiration and motivation to the subordinates.

With the era of liberalization, privatization, & globalization (LPG), numerous opportunities have been lined up for effective managers. More and more MNCs coming up in India and more and more Indian companies going for joint ventures abroad, this all has resulted in a lucrative career option for those qualified in running and managing organizations. Along with the need for highly skilled professionals in this field, there has always been a great demand for other allied key professionals like marketing mangers, financial managers, Strategic mangers, operations managers and Human Resource managers.

Thanks to the increased business expansion and globalization, the status of management professionals has become very lucrative. Depending on your qualification and experience, one can expect to be paid well in this hot career option. As a trainee, one can start with a salary of Rs.8000-Rs.12000/-. One can command a higher salary as the experience raises, Generally MNCs and private companies pay higher salary as compared government departments/organizations.
