SSC Combined Graduate Level Mains Exams
Staff Selection Commission holds a Combined Graduate Level Mains Examination only for those candidates who qualify the Prelims Examination held by the commission successfully.
The Enrolment Numbers of all the successful candidates generally appears in Employment News / Rojgar Samachar. All the successful aspirants are also informed by the commission through correspondence.
SSC Combined Graduate Level Mains Exam Pattern
SSC Combined Graduate Level Mains Exams will be of conventional type.
Scheme A - Scheme A is for the Main Examination for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Grade/ Inspectors of Central Excise/ Income Tax, Sub Inspectors of CPOs/ CBI.
The main examination consists of two parts
Part I : Written Examination
Part II : Personality Test wherever applicable.
The Combined Graduate Level Examination Tier-I exam will be held between 1-20 August, 2017 and the Combined Graduate Level Examination Tier-II, will be held between 10-11 November, 2017

NOTE:
1. All the question papers for the main examination will be of conventional type.
2. All the question papers except that of paper I and paper II will be printed both in English and in Hindi.
3. Paper I will be compulsory for all the candidates. However, this will be of qualifying nature only for the candidates who are opting for the post of Assistants (for candidates who are opting for the post of Assistants, the marks secured in this paper will not be counted for preparation of the final select list. The Commission shall have the discretion to fix the qualifying standard in this paper. Scripts of the remaining papers will be evaluated only of those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying standard in paper I of the main examination).
4. Paper II will be compulsory for all the candidates except those opting for the post of Assistants.
5. Paper III will be compulsory for candidates opting for the post of Assistants only.
6. Paper IV and Paper V are compulsory for the candidates appearing for all the categories.
7. Candidates will have the option to answer Paper III, Paper IV & Paper V either in Hindi or English.
8. Paper VI (Hindi) will be held if vacancies are reported by Delhi Police for this examination.
Part II : Personality Test wherever applicable.
Scheme B - Scheme B is for the Main Examination (Conventional Type) for recruitment to the posts of Divisional Acctts /Auditors/ UDCs.

The SSC Combined Graduate Level Mains Exam Personality Test wherever applicable will carry a maximum of 100 marks.
SSC Combined Graduate Level Mains Exam Syllabus
SSC Combined Graduate Level Mains Exam Syllabus is given below.
Scheme APaper I: English Language (Conventional type) - In addition to testing of candidates understanding of the English Language and its correct usage, his writing ability would also be tested. Questions on paragraph writing/report writing, etc. may be included.
Paper II: English Language (Comprehension type) - The candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his comprehension and writing ability etc. would be tested. Questions on short essay, precise, letter writing, etc. would also be included.
Paper III: Communication Skill /Writing Ability - The candidates ability to understand correct English/Hindi, his comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions in short essay, précis, letter writing, etc. would also be included.
Paper IV: Arithmetic - This paper will include questions on problems relating to number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit & loss, discount, use of table & graphs, mensuration, time & distance, ratio and time, etc.
Paper V: General Studies - Questions in this paper will include General Awareness as well as General Intelligence & reasoning Ability.
a) General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability: It would include questions of both verbal and non verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualisation, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.
b) General Awareness : Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, scientific research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
