Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) provides the students the ease of filling up a single application form to get admission to any of the participating institutes. According to the MoU, the Common Law Admission Test would be conducted by each of the National Law Schools on rotation as per the criterion of seniority. It is expected that the National Law Schools (i.e., the Law Schools established by State enactments) would join the existing eleven Law Schools in due course. Meanwhile, the results of admission test would be made available to them on request.

The fourteen participating Law Schools for CLAT at present are:

CLAT 2013 Exam Dates

CLAT 2013 is being organised & conducted by the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU).

HNLU has announced the dates for CLAT 2013 dates:

CLAT 2013 Important Dates

CLAT 2013 Application Form

• Printed OMR CLAT 2013 Application Form along with the CLAT-2013 Information Brochure will be made available at the designated branches of the State Bank of India (SBI) and in all the participating NLUs  by making a payment of Rs.3000/- only (Rs.2500/- in case of SC/ST candidates on submission of proof) excluding the bank charges.
  
  * For buying the CLAT 2013 Application Form from the designated branches of SBI, fees can be paid through a ‘Challan’ by furnishing the required information about the candidate as specified in the 'Challan' form.
  
  * For  purchasing CLAT 2013 Application Form from the participating NLUs, the candidates can make payment either through ‘Cash’ or ‘Demand Draft’ drawn in favour of the Registrars of the concerned NLUs payable at the respective cities of their location.

• CLAT 2013 Application Form and CLAT 2013 Information Brochure can also be obtained through registered/speed post by sending a requisition letter (with Father’s Name, Contact Numbers, detail Mailing Address and PIN Code) to:

  along with a Demand Draft of Rs.3100/- (Rs.2600/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of “Registrar, HNLU – CLAT   2013 A/C” to be payable at Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
  
  Rs. 3100.00/Rs. 2600.00 includes an additional amount of Rs.100.00 being charged for sending the Application Form and Information Brochure through Speed/Registered Post.

• You can also apply online. The online payment for applying for CLAT-2013 can be made through net-banking, debit card, credit card, etc. In case of online application, the candidates will have to bear the additional transaction costs for remitting the fees online through payment gateways.
  
  Online application for CLAT 2013 will be active from 15 Jan 2013. You can return to this page by 15 Jan to access the CLAT 2013 online application form.

Application process for CLAT 2013

The filled-in OMR CLAT 2013 Application Form along with a copy of the Bank Challan/Cash Receipt/Demand Draft must be submitted to the Convener, CLAT-2013, either in person (from 10 am to 5 pm on all working days) or through registered/speed post so as to reach the following address on or before 5 pm of 30 March 2013.

The relevant certificates/documents in support of one’s claim for admission are not to be submitted along with the Application Form. The original certificates/documents (as indicated in the OMR Application Form and specified in the CLAT-2013 Information Brochure) issued by competent authority are to be submitted to the allotted University/Institute only at the time of admission.

As the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU) is located 30 kms away from the main city of Raipur and the courier services are not up to the mark, the candidates are advised not to send their applications through courier.

Application for CLAT 2013 can also be made through online including online payment of application fees and uploading of the passport size (3.5 x 4.5) photograph and scanned copy of the signature through electronic mode. Candidates applying online must visit and carefully read the instructions given in the CLAT-2013 website (www.clat.ac.in). The online payment can be made through net-banking, debit card, credit card, etc. In case of online application, the candidates will have to bear the additional transaction costs for remitting the fees online through payment gateways.

Online application for CLAT 2013 will be active from 15 Jan 2013, 10 am and will be on till 30 Mar 2013, midnight.

CLAT 2013 Eligibility For Undergraduate Program

Eligibility for Under-Graduate Law Courses

To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2013, you should:
 

• Have a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognised Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates)
• Be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013 (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates).*

Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for CLAT 2013. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims.

* Subject to State reservation at the University concerned.
 
Eligibility for Post-Graduate Law Courses

To be eligible for appearing in CLAT-2013, you should have obtained a LL. B/B. L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and  ST candidates).*

The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.

The candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. **

*     Subject to State reservation at the University concerned.
** The candidate must have passed/appeared in the final semester/final year examination of the qualifying examination on the date of his/her admission. Such candidates will be provided provisional admission only and they will have to submit their final results of qualifying examination within the time frame prescribed by the respective Universities/Institutes.
