Campus Admission Details
Candidates who are desirous to join B.Tech Programmes in IIST must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2014 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi to qualify themselves to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)-2014 conducted by IITs and secure the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE (Advanced)-2014 as given below General Candidates (GEN): At least 20% marks in aggregate and at least 5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).Other Backward Community – Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) Candidates: At least 18% marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics). Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe(ST) & Persons with Disabilities(PD) Candidates: At least 10% marks in aggregate and at least 2.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

The Library at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) has a well equipped collection of books, journals and e-resources from all major subject areas.The book collection has prominent text books, supplementary reading materials and reference books. The operations of the library are fully computerised and the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is accessible from anywhere in the campus on 24X7 basis.E-resources deployed in the campus-wide network contains more than 3000 e-journals, hundreds of conference papers, standards etc.The major e-resources include ACM Digital Library, AIAA, AIP, APS, Annual Reviews, ASME, Cambridge Online, IEL Online (IEEE), JSTOR, Optic Infobase, Oxford Journals, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Science Direct.One of the unique features of IIST Library is the backing of VSSC Library, the largest and oldest library under ISRO. The students and faculty of IIST have access to the rich and diverse collection of VSSC Library facilitated through Inter-Library Loan (ILL). In addition to the regular Library and Information services, Book Bank service is being provided to ensure essential study materials to IIST students.High Performance cluster server having 3 Terra flop speed (32 HP Blade servers having 64 Dual Quad Processor) Storage 20 TB SAN Storage with NAS  Header.Tape Library with Backup softwares.Campus Automation Servers : 8 Servers with  4CPU/Dual CPU IIST has a well experienced medical team with a Cheif Medical Consultant, a Medical Officer and paramedical staff. Their service is available to students and staff throughout the working hours on all days. A clinic has been established in the campus with sufficient medicines and equipment to take care of the day medical needs.

Placement Aid:
Placement Office is being established in IIST to assist students to engage with various scientific and research institutions and manufacturing companies to obtain suitable placements.It is envisaged that the placement office will perform the following services. Publicize the features and industry-relevance of the courses conducted by IIST Communicate with various agencies to facilitate career-guidance and placements to students of IIST Co-ordinate with such agencies to arrange interactions with students and conduct selection tests and interviews Services of the placement office can be availed by students and scholars who are due to complete their under-graduate, post-graduate or research programmes in IIST.
