Distance Education in Fakir Mohan University

The Fakir Mohan University, Vyasa Vihar, Balasore, Orissa was established on 3rd July 1993 under Section 32 of the Orissa University Act, 1989(Act 5 of 1989). The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also accredited by the Association of Indian Universities.

The university has the objectives to develop itself as a value and need based quality education provider in the state of Orissa in general and Balasore and Bhadrak districts in particular with the ultimate objective of producing qualified and competent manpower responsive to the changing needs of the society at the national and international levels. Apart from imparting regular courses the university is also offering several professional and conventional courses through distance mode.

The Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE) offers courses in various fields of higher learning. These courses include Information & Technology, Fashion Technology, Hotel & Hospitality Management, Management, Bio Technology and Traditional Science. Like IGNOU Fakir Mohan University is providing Facilities to Employed People and those people who can not go to class to do regular classes.
