Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test or DNB-CET is a qualifying and ranking examination to gain admission to various postgraduate medical courses that include 6 years' course in the specialty of cardio-thoracic surgery, neuro-surgery, pediatric surgery and plastic surgery.

DNB-CET is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), and upon successfully clearing the exam, you are awarded the Diplomate of National Board. The diplomate qualification is equated with postgraduate degrees awarded by other Indian universities and also allows you to apply for teaching positions as a lecturer or assistant professor under the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Eligibility criteria

You must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for the DNB-CET exam for its January 2014 session:

  • You must hold an MBBS degree or a provisional pass certificate from a recognised medical institution, along with a permanent or provisional registration certificate of qualifying MBBS as issued by the Medical Council of India.

Exam pattern & syllabus

Exam results

Centralised merit based counselling for January 2014 session

The merit list of candidates eligible for counselling will be displayed on the NBE website. Upon qualifying, you will be able to download a Rank letter for participating in the counselling session. Get complete details on the counselling page.
