AMIETE
Associate Membership of Institutions Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers – AMIETE is a graduate level examination equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech. program. The program is recognized by Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD and Union Public Service Commission. The examination is conducted twice a year in June and December at various centers across India and in few places abroad.
The AMIETE examination is held in the following engineering streams-
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Information Technology
Eligibility
Educational Qualification : For Graduateship (AMIETE) Examination a candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics & Maths conducted by a recognised Board of Education or possessing qualification of any 3 year Diploma course in Engineering / Technology with subjects of Maths and Physics to 10+2 level and working experience in relevant field or studying for higher qualification with physics/electrical/electronics/computer field.
Age : Candidates applying for studentship for AMIETE examination shall not be less than 16/18 years of age for 10+2/Diploma holders respectively.
Membership
Student Membership- To become an active student member, a candidate requires enrolling. Enrollment is necessary for appearing in AMIETE examination. The enrolment fee and other conditions are listed in the Regulations and Syllabi for AMIETE examinations.
Membership Period- A student member need to enroll oneself with IETE membership program at least four months in advance before taking the examination. This means if a student want to appear in June examination, then he / she has to enroll before 28 / 29 February of the year of examination. Likewise, if a student wants to appear in December examination, then he / she require enrolling before 31 August of the year of examination.
Validity Period- The IETE validate student membership for 10 consecutive examinations. If a student do not take or pass all the papers in 10 examinations then he / she requires to re enrolling for remaining papers. IETE also charge additional amount of fee from such candidates who have not cleared the examination in time and want their membership to be continue. If a candidate does not write or fill the examination application form for any attempt within 10 attempts from the date of enrolment, then such attempt is also considered as an attempt by IETE.
Application
Last Date for Enrolment for June exam is 28 February and for December exam is 31 August. You need to submit your applicaton preferably 15 days before these dates.

Award of AMIETE
Student Members successfully completing Section A&B subjects and project work of AMIETE Examination as per regulations prescribed by the Council from time to time shall be awarded a certificate of having passed the AMIETE examination of the Institution. The pass marks for AMIETE Examination is 40% in individual subject (except Project & Lab Practice) with an aggregate of 50% marks with other conditions/norms as laid down by the Institution. Pass marks for Project & Lab Practice Examination is 50%.
